Mollans "Micro Bakery"
2025 starts off with a bang for Mollans. Not only are we the top for fish and chips (and other tasty takeaway treats) but we are now baking our delicious sourdough bread and will be taking orders as well as having some available on takeaway days (Thursday/Friday) while stocks last.
If you would like to be sure of a loaf you will need to order it by Tuesday evening as the "starter" needs to be fed and ready by Wednesday morning to make the bread and then it is left to proof until Thursday when it will be baked.

Why sourdough?
We don't eat commercially produced bread at home and wanted to be able to share the benefits associated with this age old traditional bread.
A lot of commercial bread contains a lot of Ultra Processed Foods (UPF), this is artificial ingredients used by the food industry to preserve, hasten the processes, make you want to buy more etc.
We believe that if something is worth doing then it is worth doing right (not rushed). Our sourdough is a 2 day process allowing the naturally occurring yeasts from the organic flour we use to create stunning loaves.
Sourdough is easier for the body to digest and doesn't cause a blood sugar spike in the way commercial white bread does. This means that many people who have an intolerance to gluten are able to eat our sourdough without the bloating and pain they usually experience This bread contains gluten so is not suitable to those unlucky folk who are coeliac.
